A fabulous portrait of a large group of immigrants from 1935. The custom was to picture all those that shared a common voyage to Australia. This is Party No. 37 who left England on board the Otranto in August 1935 and arrived in Fremantle on 1 October 1935. George Elliott spent virtually all his life at Fairbridge and is known to many people. He is that very small boy in the centre towards the front (just to the left of the lady).
