The Old
Fairbridge Farm
Presented are some photographs of the
site of the original Fairbridge Farm located a few kilometres south of the
Pinjarra town site. This site was occupied by Fairbridge from 1912 to 1920.
Nothing now remains of any of the buildings constructed during this period. The
pictures make thoughtful viewing.
These photographs were kindly
made available to us by Mr John Smith, Chairman of Fairbridge W.A. - 2006.

This is the old well from which
Fairbridge people from 1912 through 1920 drew their water. Standing next to
the well is the current property owner with his daughter. |

A row of oak trees that almost
certainly started their life through Fairbridge hands. |

OLDFARM03 |
A poplar tree that would have
been planted during the Fairbridge era on this property. |

OLDFARM04 |
Fruit trees - probably
pear trees emanating from the old Fairbridge days |

OLDFARM05 |
Cattle graze peacefully in lush
grass under these old fruit trees planted in the Fairbridge era. |

This gnarled old fruit tree is
keeping all its memories to itself! |

OLDFARM07 |
Another fruit tree showing its
age. I wonder if it still bears fruit? |

Although there were a number
of seasonal water holes, many disappear during the summer. This one is generally
perennial so it's highly probable that this is the swimming hole the
Fairbridge children at the old Farm used. If that's the case then sadly this is
the site where Fairbridge boy Arthur Keane drowned in August 1913. |
