Fairbridge Farm Schools - Child Emigration Society (Oxford) - Annual Reports 1917 to 1938
Far from being "dry-old" annual reports, these documents provide many historical photos plus a view into the life and times of the period. 1917 started in a rather factual fashion but as time progressed the report transformed into a readable and informative publication and obviously a marketing tool. 1928 and 1929 are good examples of fabulous photos! These Annual Reports continued to be published up until just after WW2. After WW2 the Fairbridge Society replaced the CES. Many pages of the Fairbridge Society annual reports over the years can be found on this website.
